HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHTIN!

Happy 2nd birthday to my sweet baby boy! Seems like just yesterday I was walking into the house for the first time with you in your carrier. Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for you and your spirit. You make my life so much brighter - there is never a dull day with you little buddy. I hope you have a great day and remember that we love you so much - My hope for you is that you always keep your happy spirit and the light in your eyes. XOXOXOXO

Terrible Anniversary...

Today, 3 years ago, my best friend was killed. This is always a hard day for me (and everyone else who loved and knew her). I am trying to stay busy, but it's hard to forget receiving the worst phone call in my whole life. Above is the last picture taken of her a couple days before she died. She loved Gavin and never got a chance to meet Ashtin. I miss her every day and really miss just picking up the phone and calling her. I still remember when she moved in on my street (we were both 5) and I went down to introduce myself with my rollerskates. I am confident I will see her again one day....until then, her memory lives on - whenever I see a blue sky, a butterfly or a daisy. You are dearly missed Carley xoxoxoxox

Building an Ark!

Well, this past week has been the weirdest weather. I took the above picture after a strange day of sun/rain/ and hail. We had 2 tornadoes touch down within 2 miles of here. I was on the phone with my dad and I looked outside and the whole yard/sky was brown with dust and there was a strange humming sound. My dad quickly instructed me to go downstairs. The boys thought it was fun. Lola (our dog) was acting strange all day...maybe she is good for something :)

Rob took the boys to the train museum and they had a blast. Looks like Ashtin is going to like Thomas as much as Gavin did at that age. They both were very nervous when the train started to move and Rob snapped the above pic. They were fine after the initial movement - Gavin was so worried about his little brother not having a seatbelt on. Rob said it was very cute to see him so protective.

Ashtin recently started drinking out of juiceboxes without creating a mess. He just looks so big when he drinks them! Gavin didn't master this skill for a while (he was always squeezing them making a mess). The boys are still loving the house and the park across the street is almost finished and Gavin is over there all day with various neighborhood friends....he is over there now having a light saber battle with his buddy Shaun.

I love this last pic of Ashtin....I really wish I could freeze him at this age. He is so happy lately and talking a lot more. Gavin's last day of school is on Wednesday and he is really excited. He said he is going to miss his friends. He saw my stomach move the other night...baby Landyn was very active after some ice cream...and he was just amazed. It was so cute. I catch him watching my stomach every day now waiting to see it again.

Updates

Well, Rob made me chop off Ashtin's curls :( He officially looks too old now! I haven't updated the blog in a while with the move and all, but I promise to faithfully update it at least once a week now. Lot's of things are going on these days....we LOVE our new house and the boys do too. Gavin finally has a ton of boys to play with that are his age (although they are ringing the doorbell all day wanting to play!). Ashtin's new obsession is the lawnmower. He loves it when Rob cuts the grass and is very serious while helping daddy! Gavin is really into golfing lately and we got him a set of clubs and he starts lessons next week. He can hit the ball better than me!
I am 34 weeks pregnant and ready to be done. I hate this stage in the game. I am so uncomfortable and I really have a hard time sleeping lately since I am up to pee about 400 times a night. My tenative induction date is July 10th, although I think it will be a week sooner if she decides that baby Landyn is too big or my cervix is dilated any more (I am 1 1/2 cm dilated already and that was at 31 weeks).
Gavin also lost two bottom teeth at once. We were getting a little nervous because he hadn't lost any yet and all of his classmates had. He only has 6 more days of school and then in Sept. he will be in first grade - Time goes so fast. Speaking of time flying by, Rob and I both turned 32 recently - ugh - seems like yesterday I was 21!
